Child Center of Pennsylvania Honors Brian Houchins with Community Recognition Award

Mechanicsburg, PA – December 21, 2023

The Child Center of Pennsylvania is proud to announce Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg because the recipient of the 2023 Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is presented annually to a person who has demonstrated distinctive dedication to bettering the lives of kids in our group.

Brian Houchins , a dedicated elementary faculty instructor and neighborhood volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children’s schooling and welfare. Over the previous ten years, his efforts have considerably impacted the lives of numerous kids in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins’ initiatives include establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged college students, weekend workshops focusing on literacy and numeracy skills for at-risk youth, and main a successful community-driven campaign to improve local playgrounds, guaranteeing safe and inclusive play areas for all youngsters.

The award ceremony will be held on January 15, 2024, on the Mechanicsburg Community Center. The occasion will feature speeches from native dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins’ contributions, and the award presentation.
