Child Center of Pennsylvania Honors Brian Houchins with Community Recognition Award
Mechanicsburg, PA – December 21, 2023
The Child Center of Pennsylvania is proud to announce Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg because the recipient of the 2023 Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is presented yearly to an individual who has demonstrated distinctive dedication to enhancing the lives of kids in our neighborhood.
Brian Houchins, a dedicated elementary faculty instructor and group volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children’s training and welfare. Over the past ten years, his efforts have significantly impacted the lives of numerous youngsters in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins’ initiatives embody establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged college students, weekend workshops specializing in literacy and numeracy abilities for at-risk youth, and leading a successful community-driven campaign to improve local playgrounds, making certain safe and inclusive play spaces for all youngsters.
The award ceremony shall be held on January 15, 2024, on the Mechanicsburg Community Center. The occasion will feature speeches from local dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins’ contributions, and the award presentation.
